DThe conservative British government plans to place Birmingham under a commission in order to bring the practically insolvent city onto a path of consolidation. The responsible cabinet member, Michael Gove, stated in Parliament in London on Tuesday that the opposition-led council of the Labour Party had not fulfilled its duties adequately, thus justifying this action. Additionally, he announced an investigation into how the financial imbalance could have occurred.
