Fehlende Motorenteile aus Slowenien beeinträchtigen die Produktion bei Volkswagen. Auch der Standort Wolfsburg ist betroffen. »Ab Montag, 11. September, werden im Werk Wolfsburg vereinzelte Schichten ausfallen«, sagte ein Sprecher. In Emden und Osnabrück wurde die Produktion ebenfalls gedrosselt.
The Portuguese factory in Palmela near Lisbon had even announced that assembly would be completely halted for up to two months starting this Monday.
The reason is the recent flooding in Slovenia, which has affected a supplier of engine parts. As a result, there is now a shortage of gear wheels for the drivetrain of combustion engines. Electric cars, on the other hand, are not affected.
The speaker states that all four assembly lines in Wolfsburg, where Golf and Tiguan are mainly produced, are affected by the disruptions. „The reduced operating mode will initially last for three weeks.“ However, it only applies to individual shifts. „There is no day when all shifts are affected and the plant is completely shut down.“ The affected employees will be placed on short-time work.
Delivery issues are expected to be resolved by the end of the year.
Production in Emden was reduced a week ago. According to VW, shifts have also been occasionally canceled in Osnabrück since September 6th.
Bei VW Nutzfahrzeuge in Hannover, wo ab dieser Woche ebenfalls Ausfälle angekündigt waren, wird an diesem Montag noch normal produziert, wie ein VW-Sprecher auf Anfrage erklärte. Ausfälle stehen aber auch dort bevor.
Einkaufsvorstand Dirk Große-Loheide hatte sich vergangene Woche zuversichtlich gezeigt, den Lieferengpass zügig beheben zu können. Bis Ende September werde man einen Plan haben, wie es weitergehen soll, kündigte er am Rande der Automesse IAA Mobility in München an. »Ende des Jahres ist das Thema ausgestanden.«
