Bei seiner Russland-Reise hat Nordkoreas Machthaber Kim Jong Un den russischen Verteidigungsminister Sergej Schoigu getroffen. Die Begegnung habe auf dem Knewitschi-Flughafen im ostrussischen Wladiwostok stattgefunden, berichtete die staatliche russische Nachrichtenagentur Tass. Kim wurde demnach von Schoigu und einer Ehrengarde empfangen. In Knewitschi besichtigten die beiden Politiker eine Waffenfabrik. Der russische Minister zeigte Kim verschiedene Kampfjets, die in der Lage sind, Nuklearwaffen mit sich zu führen. Alle Kampfflugzeuge, die Kim gezeigt wurden, werden im Krieg in der Ukraine eingesetzt – darunter die Bomber Tu-160, Tu-95 und Tu-22. „Es kann von Moskau nach Japan fliegen und dann wieder zurück“, sagte Schoigu über eines der Flugzeuge.

The EU has lifted import restrictions on Ukrainian grain despite protests from some member states. „We need exceptional circumstances to justify these types of restrictions, and currently we see no disruption or distortion in the market of these five member states,“ said EU Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis. The previous restrictions allowed Eastern EU members Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, and Bulgaria to limit trade in products such as wheat, corn, rapeseed, or sunflowers from Ukraine on their markets.
The EU also announced the need for discussions with the five Eastern European member states, and the Commission will continue to monitor the situation. It was not ruled out that restrictions may be reintroduced if the market situation justifies it.
Frachter steuern auf ukrainische Häfen zu
For the first time since Russia’s withdrawal from the grain agreement, according to Ukrainian reports, two freighters are heading towards a Ukrainian Black Sea port. The ships Resilient Africa and Aroyat are en route to the port of Tschornomorsk. There, they are expected to load approximately 20,000 tons of wheat destined for Africa and Asia, as stated by Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Olexander Kubrakow.
