TW-Testclub: Die Umsätze im August 2023: Achterbahnfahrt mit Plusausgang

The fashion sales in August were characterized by fluctuations rather than a stable sideways movement. Similar to the temperature, the sales development resembled a roller coaster ride. However, due to the relatively weak performance compared to the previous year, there were no weeks with negative sales.

The meteorologists of the German Weather Service (DWD) refer to August as a „temperature roller coaster“. It was too cloudy, too warm, but at the same time too wet – that’s the conclusion. With around 125 liters per square meter, last month saw as much rain as in 2010. The unpredictable weather also affected sales in the stationary fashion retail sector, but overall it resulted in a positive monthly closing, which was likely due in part to weak previous performance.
