Ein Schaden an der Oberleitung hat den Dortmunder Hauptbahnhof am Mittwochabend mehrere Stunden lang lahmgelegt. In weiten Teilen des Ruhrgebiets kam es dadurch zu Verspätungen und Zugausfällen. Sowohl Fernzüge als auch Regionalzüge waren betroffen. Zahlreiche Reisende kamen nicht aus Dortmund weg.
The train company announced after approximately two hours that long-distance trains could now resume service at the station. However, it may still take until Thursday morning for the issue to be completely resolved. „Our on-site staff is working tirelessly to fix the problem,“ the train company stated.
The problems started in the late afternoon during rush hour. Suddenly, everything came to a halt at Dortmund Central Station. A railway spokesperson said that an overhead line had been damaged. Due to the design of the overhead line, all tracks at the main station were affected.
