Auch die Rolle der Thüringer FDP wurde thematisiert: Die Grünen-Politikerin Katrin Göring-Eckardt kündigte nach der Abstimmung an, mit dem FDP-Fraktionsvorsitzenden Christian Dürr im Bundestag und mit Bundestagsvizepräsident Wolfgang Kubicki (FDP) sprechen zu wollen. Zugleich forderte Göring-Eckardt eine klare Haltung der Bundes-FDP.
