An expert predicts an increase in Ukrainian sugar production.
According to a broker’s assessment, the Ukrainian sugar production is expected to significantly increase in the upcoming 2023/24 season (October-September). The international broker Czarnikow predicts a production of 1.6 million tons, which would be 40 percent higher than the previous year’s value. The reasons for this are an increased cultivation of sugar beets and favorable weather conditions. If the forecast is confirmed, the country could export approximately 500,000 tons of surplus white sugar. -

Besides this military aid, Blinken is expected to announce nearly $805 million in other support for the government in Kiev, said another US government official. This includes $300 million for the police, $206 million for humanitarian aid, $203 million for anti-corruption efforts, and $90.5 million for mine clearance. Also included in the package is the previously announced transfer of frozen assets belonging to Russian oligarchs worth $5.4 million to Ukraine. The funds for this have already been approved by the US Congress.
