The State Chancellery of Thuringia accuses the CDU and FDP of deliberate coordination with the AfD.

Die Staatskanzlei von Thüringens Ministerpräsident Bodo Ramelow (Linke) hat der CDUDer FDP wurde vorgeworfen, gezielte Absprachen mit der AfD zur Durchsetzung der Steuersenkung getroffen zu haben. Die CDU hatte zuvor beteuert, dass es keine Absprachen oder Kontakte zur AfD gegeben habe.

Staatskanzleichef Benjamin-Immanuel Hoff (Linke) bejahte im Berliner Tagesspiegel dennoch die Frage, ob er Hinweise auf konkrete Absprachen der beiden Parteien habe. „CDU, FDP und AfD haben sich am Donnerstag gezielt abgestimmt“, sagte er. „Es wurden parallel eigene Punkte von der Tagesordnung genommen, um dann die Grunderwerbsteuer behandeln zu können. Alle drei haben gemeinsam die Beschlussempfehlung im Haushaltsausschuss abgegeben. Die AfD hat im Vorfeld öffentlich klargestellt, dass sie das Vorhaben unterstützen wird.“ Er fügte hinzu: „Es gibt seit geraumer Zeit Absprachen, die augenfällig sind.“

The opposition party CDU was able to push through a reduction in the property transfer tax in the state parliament of Thuringia on Thursday, as the far-right AfD, the FDP, and independent members of parliament agreed – the red-red-green government does not have its own majority. Both CDU state and parliamentary leader Mario Voigt and federal chairman Friedrich Merz subsequently stated that there had been no coordination with the AfD. Secretary General Carsten Linnemann had said, „There was zero contact with the AfD.“

Gauck sieht keinen Grund für Kritik an CDU

Former German President Joachim Gauck does not see any reason to criticize the actions of the Thuringian CDU. „I would immediately protest loudly if voices within the Union emerged to form a coalition or make substantial agreements with this AfD,“ Gauck said on Friday evening in Berlin at an event hosted by the news portal The Pioneer. „But upon sober reflection, I do not see a decisive course of action.“

However, Gauck also believes that the debate about the decision in Thuringia is necessary. „If election campaigns are now looming, then such topics can be useful,“ said the former Federal President. „It does not harm us to argue about such matters. It harms us if we remain silent about them.“
