The demand for „Made in Germany“ exports has decreased.

The German economy is currently experiencing a downturn. Leading German research institutes predict a decline in economic performance of about half a percent this year. While not yet dramatic, there is a risk of a prolonged period of weakness. Surprisingly, it is the industry – traditionally the backbone of the German economy – that is currently causing concern. Recently, industrial companies have once again reduced production.

There is no improvement in sight. One reason for this is the weak demand for goods made in Germany, especially abroad. This is a problem for German companies that rely on exports. But how bad is the situation for the German export industry?
