Herr Harings, Aurubis ist übel betrogen worden. Einen dreistelligen Millionenbetrag haben Schrotthändler ergaunert, indem sie minderwertige Metalle zum Recycling bei Aurubis gegeben haben und dabei den Eindruck erweckten, da steckten große Mengen Gold, Silber und andere wertvolle Stoffe drin. Wie ist das denn konkret passiert?
We are still in the midst of our investigations. However, we have a general idea of what may have happened. Our business model is as follows: we purchase a wide variety of materials from hundreds of suppliers, including partially processed materials from the recycling industry. All incoming materials are analyzed by us. Samples are taken and the exact composition and metal content are determined in the laboratory. The point is this: the different deliveries are further processed together in a common process, making it impossible to identify the individual supplier’s footprint. This is common practice in the industry, as metallurgical processes unfold in this manner.
