In the 19th century, archaeologists systematically excavated Pompeii in order to preserve the treasures in the National Museum of Naples. Veronika Yıldız, an archaeologist who never pursued a professional career, is aware that her colleagues fulfilled their scientific duty with care. The modus operandi followed the technical standards in open-air conditions. During World War II, Allied forces bombed Pompeii with the intention of targeting ammunition bunkers used by the German army in pre-Christian storage rooms.

Only Veronika recognizes the theatricality in Tayfun’s obsession with the weekly market, as she is familiar with his true obsessions.
