Do the Russians still have a choice? According to the Central Election Commission, they do. A „Unified Election Day“ is scheduled for September 10th, during which regional parliaments and governors will be elected in large parts of the Russian Federation – from Magadan Oblast on the Pacific to Moscow and Pskovsk in the northwest. In addition, in four electoral districts, deputies will be sent to the State Duma through by-elections. The legal political spectrum of the country is limited to forces that do not fundamentally oppose Russia’s military presence in Ukraine.
