Lisz Hirn expresses frustration with Austria: „Sometimes one can feel a bit desperate.“

DIE ZEIT: Frau Hirn, zählen Sie sich zu den „normal denkenden“ Menschen in Österreich?

Lisz Hirn: The term confuses me because thinking normally is not a compliment. I understand it as thinking within predetermined lines, without looking outside or creating a meta-level. I have always found it desirable to take on other perspectives that do not just follow predetermined paths. I would even say that those who are very explicitly normal are eerie. You also read in the newspaper: Actually, the perpetrator was completely inconspicuous, completely normal.
