Libanon: Mehrere Tote bei Kämpfen in palästinensischem Flüchtlingslager

At least seven people have been killed in clashes in the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon. According to the Palestinian Red Crescent aid organization, at least 16 others were injured when a ceasefire was broken in the Ain al-Hilweh camp on the outskirts of Sidon in the south of the country, leading to renewed fighting.

In dem FlüchtlingslagerFighters from the Fatah movement led by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who control the camp, have been engaged in clashes with Islamists since last week. According to the Red Crescent organization, a total of at least 16 people have been killed and dozens more injured.

On Tuesday, high-ranking Palestinian representatives, including Assam al-Ahmad from Fatah and Mussa Abu Marsuk from rival Hamas, met at the Palestinian embassy in Beirut and agreed to work towards strengthening the ceasefire agreed upon on Monday. However, it was broken on Wednesday.
