Teile der SPD machen Druck auf die eigene Bauministerin Klara Geywitz. Der konservative »Seeheimer Kreis« warnt angesichts der Baukrise, bezahlbares Wohnen sei »für unseren sozialen Wohlstand eine unerlässliche Notwendigkeit«. In einem Strategiepapier, das dem SPIEGEL vorliegt, fordert die Gruppierung eine »Trendwende und mehr Tempo in der Bau- und Wohnpolitik«.
Der Aufruf aus den eigenen Reihen kommt kurz vor dem anstehenden Baugipfel im Kanzleramt. Geywitz und Kanzler Olaf Scholz wollen am Montag Zwischenergebnisse des »Bündnisses bezahlbarer Wohnraum« vorlegen. Zudem will die Runde über zusätzliche Investitionen sprechen.

In the triangular paper of the „Seeheimer“, it is stated that the goal of the federal government to build 400,000 new apartments per year is facing „immense challenges“. The „Seeheimer Kreis“, which claims to have 95 members of the SPD in the Bundestag, is calling for a simplification of construction projects. Approval processes should be expedited and excessive regulations from states and municipalities should be reduced.
Gefordert wird eine »proaktivere Ausrichtung« staatlicher Förderinstitutionen wie der Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben. Der Bund solle sich stärker engagieren, etwa beim Bau strategisch wichtiger Gebäude für die Bundeswehr, dem Ankauf von Boden oder bei der Schaffung bezahlbaren Wohnraums.
