Hugh Jackman trennt sich nach 27 Jahren Ehe von seiner Frau Deborra-lee

Die beiden australischen Schauspieler haben beschlossen, ihre Ehe nach 27 Jahren mit zwei gemeinsamen Kindern zu beenden.

„We were blessed to spend nearly three decades as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. We have decided to separate in order to continue developing individually,“ the couple said in a joint statement. The separation was first reported by People Magazine.

The two also stated that this explanation is the only one they would give for their separation. They added that their family is their top priority and that they would approach this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. A representative for Jackman confirmed the statement to The Associated Press news agency.

The Australian couple met in 1995 on the set of an Australian TV series where they both worked as actors. Deborra-lee Furness was more well-known at the time. They got married on April 11, 1996 and over the years became one of Hollywood’s favorite couples. The couple has two children together: Oscar, who is now 23, and Ava, who is now 18. Jackman also became a major star in Hollywood and on Broadway. He portrayed characters like „Wolverine“ in the X-Men film series, circus director P.T. Barnum in the musical „The Greatest Showman,“ and Jean Valjean in Les Misérables.

In April, Jackman celebrated the 27th anniversary of their wedding with a tribute on Instagram.
