DThe coup in Niger has consequences for the French nuclear industry. The mining company Orano has reported supply shortages for its local uranium production for the first time, nearly a month and a half after the military took power in the West African country. These shortages are related to the sanctions imposed by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) against Niger, which led to the closure of important trade borders with neighboring countries Benin and Nigeria.
