Baden-Württembergs Ministerpräsident Winfried Kretschmann(Green) and other politicians have strongly criticized the acts of violence following a gathering for people from Eritrea: „The images of the brutal disturbances with targeted attacks against the police are disturbing and completely unacceptable,“ Kretschmann is quoted as saying in a statement from the Ministry of the Interior of Baden-Württemberg. „We will not tolerate conflicts from other countries being violently carried out here, and we will respond to it with full force,“ it says.
Auch Baden-Württembergs stellvertretender Ministerpräsident und Landesinnenminister Thomas Strobl äußerte sich zu den Ausschreitungen: „Wer unsere Polizistinnen und Polizisten, unsere Einsatzkräfte, all die, die uns schützen, angreift, greift uns alle an. Dem stellen wir uns mit aller Macht entgegen“, sagte der CDU-Politiker. Es gehe überhaupt nicht, dass innerafrikanische Konflikte gewalttätig „auf unseren Straßen ausgetragen werden“.
Strobl will sich an diesem Montag bei einem Treffen mit Stuttgarter Polizisten über den Einsatz informieren. Gemeinsam mit Landespolizeipräsidentin Stefanie Hinz wird er im Polizeipräsidium Stuttgart erwartet. Dort wolle Strobl mit der Polizeiführung und Polizisten über die Ausschreitungen sprechen und sich nach dem Gesundheitszustand der verletzten Beamten erkundigen.

Dutzende Verletzte bei Ausschreitungen in Stuttgart
During an event for people from Eritrea in Stuttgart, there were violent clashes in which 27 police officers, 21 attackers, and four participants of the event were injured. The trigger was a gathering of Eritrean associations with 80 to 90 participants, who, according to the police, are close to the dictatorial regime in Africa. Several hundred opponents of the event gathered in the city for counter-protests.

The police identified the personal details of 228 individuals and issued eviction orders, with one person being taken into custody for further investigation. The suspects are being investigated for offenses including breach of the peace and physical assault.
