Bundestagsdebatte zur Migration: Dobrindt warnt vor „Großkonflikt“ – Faeser wirft ihm Populismus vor

CSU-Landesgruppenchef Alexander Dobrindt hat die Ampelparteien im Bundestag zu weiteren Maßnahmen gegen irreguläre Migration aufgefordert. „Wir sind bereit, einen Konsens mit ihnen zu finden“, sagte Dobrindt – und verwies auf den von Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz vorgeschlagenen Deutschland-Pakt, der auch eine stärkere Begrenzung irregulärer Migration vorsieht.

There was no majority for a direct vote on the proposal. The discussions on the suggestions of the CDU/CSU faction will now continue in the committees, with the Interior Committee taking the lead.

According to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, a total of 220,116 people have applied for asylum in Germany from January to August this year. This represents an increase of 77.2 percent compared to the same period last year. Additionally, according to Interior Minister Faeser, the Federal Police have registered 56,052 unauthorized entries by the end of July this year. In addition, more than one million people from Ukraine have fled to Germany before the Russian aggression.
