Apple is facing opposition in France: Just as the recently unveiled iPhone 15 went on sale, employees of the company went on strike on Friday. Employees protested in front of the flagship store of the company, located near the Paris Opera Garnier, to emphasize their demands in the wage dispute.

The unions are demanding a seven percent increase in salary and an end to the hiring freeze that has been going on for months. The company has so far offered a 4.5 percent raise. „We are the ones who make Apple’s wealth,“ said Anais Durel, who has been working for the US corporation for ten years. „That’s why we deserve better treatment than what we are currently receiving.“ The company declined to comment on this matter.
